Dear Bluetooth Developers Conference Speaker:

We are delighted to welcome you as an integral part of the Bluetooth Developers Conference. We hope you enjoy and benefit from your participation in the Conference program.

This manual is intended to guide you through the process of being a speaker. It contains detailed information on deadlines, preparing your presentation, audio-visual requirements, travel and more. It is important that you carefully review and understand the information in this manual.

A detailed description of your Conference session is enclosed with this manual. The Conference will be located at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, CA, from December 11 -13, with a Pre-Conference Seminar on December 10.

Remember to make your hotel and airline reservations as soon as possible. For details on hotel reservations please see the attached information. For discounted airline and car rental rates, please visit www.bluetooth.com/devcom.

Again, thank you for your participation in the Conference as a speaker. Your cooperation in meeting our deadlines is greatly appreciated and is necessary in order to ensure a successful session. All presentations will be included in the Conference Notes, therefore it is very important that the presentation deadlines are met. We look forward to working with you and encourage you to contact us with any questions or concerns regarding your participation.

Best regards,

Dina Saah

Speaker Housing Form
Speaker Audio/Visual Release Form

All speakers must meet the presentation deadline to be included in the Conference Notes. In the event that any revisions to your presentation are necessary after the October 22nd submission, please email us the updated presentation prior to the Conference. Updated presentations will be available on the website after the Conference. Handouts in the session room will not be allowed.

PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

PRESENTATION TEMPLATE

All speakers must use the Bluetooth Developers Conference presentation template. The template will be sent via email or may be downloaded here.

*Your individual username and password will be emailed to you to access the speaker section.

CLUTTER

Do not use more than six lines of text per slide. More text will clutter your slide and lessen its legibility. Too many lines, graphs, typefaces and sizes detract from the message you are trying to communicate.

CHARTS AND GRAPHS

Complex graphics do not reproduce clearly. The audience will not be able to comprehend a graph that is too detailed and your message will be lost. A common error is using a system configuration drawing. Communicate your message, either by text or by dividing graphics over several slides.

IDENTIFICATION

Each slide must include a header or footer, which identifies the speaker, presentation and sequence number.

You may display your company logo on the first slide, but company names, logos, etc., should not appear on the rest of the slides. Any company logos that appear on any slide other than the first, will be removed.

WHAT IF MY CONTENT DOESN'T FIT INTO THE TEMPLATE?

If this is the case, you may use a solid white background for that slide only.

SUBMITTING YOUR COMPLETED PRESENTATION

Once you have completed your presentation, please email it directly to bluetoothspeakers@key3media.com.

PRE-LOADING YOUR PRESENTATION

YOUR PRESENTATION

Due to the tight scheduling of sessions, your presentation will be pre-loaded onto the Pentium PC in the room where your session will take place. As always, please bring an extra copy of your presentation on a disk.

IF YOU'VE REVISED YOUR PRESENTATION

If you make revisions to your presentation after you have submitted it by the October 22nd deadline, please bring a copy on disk when you check in at Speaker Services. We will have a person in the speaker ready room designated to pre-loading your revised presentation on the network to your session room. If your presentation is a large file, please bring it on a zip disk.

*Updated presentations will be available to the attendees on the website following the Conference.

ON-SITE PROCESS

Your presentation will automatically be pre-loaded into your Conference room if you turn your presentation into us by the deadline, October 22nd or if you bring the updated presentation into the speaker ready room onsite the day before your session. The presentations will be located in a presentation folder on the desktop. Your presentation will be titled by your first initial and last name (example: J Dowe).

*If your presentation is a large file, please bring it on a zip disk.
